Christmas 2013

January 5, 2014 – 12:36 am

We spent Christmas 2013 up in Owasco with the Knauls.  The kids got along wonderfully, and it was great to see them playing so well together.  We even had a little snow to play in, with Dave and Tim alternating as “reindeer” to pull the sled, and just enough to make a little snow creature.  With Graham and Zoe so close in age, they especially hit it off, except for some upset Graham had about the sled that none of us quite got.  Apparently, he thought he owned the front of the sled.  In any case, we were all impressed with how well the cousins did together.  Remarkably, although Tessa is more than a year older than cousin Finley, we were amazed to see that the two are almost the same size!  Finley must tower over the other two-year old girls down in Williamsburg, not to mention outsmart them! We look forward to meeting Finley’s baby brother or sister(hopefully this summer), due out in April 2014.

We were also grateful to have some extra hands helping out with baby Grace.  It seems there was never a shortage on that end, and she enjoyed her first Christmas (flashing lots of smiles!), as we all did.  Hopefully, we did not infect everyone with our illness.  Poor Graham had his first stomach bug in years the day after Christmas (and then followed it with another one a week later).  Fortunately, it was short-lived.

Our new sailor

July 6, 2013 – 2:10 pm

Mr G. got his first trip in a sailboat this weekend, when we visited Auburn. I won’t write much, since he’s asking to go again now. I guess that, and the jumping up an down with big smile when asked if he liked it, says it all…

Grace and Graham

June 25, 2013 – 10:47 pm

Graham loves his new sister. She just loves milk and sleep at this point, but posed for some good pictures with her big bro’.

Welcome Grace!

June 25, 2013 – 10:47 pm

The title says it all. We welcomed Grace to the family on June 2. Graham very generously shared his birthday with his new sister (and reportedly handled not having mom or dad at his birthday dinner pretty well).

Here are pictures from the hospital.

Disney World

June 25, 2013 – 10:46 pm

With a baby on the way and engine testing that was scheduled to conflict with Grandma and Grandpa Knaul’s time in Florida in March, I convinced Mommy and Daddy to take me to see Mickey in Florida in January.

At the magic Kingdom, I liked going on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the haunted house, and a scary ride where I went back in time with Daddy and saw dinosaurs, but then meteors started falling on us. We saw a daytime parade with lots of characters from my Disney stories. There was also a parade at night with lots of lights, followed by fireworks.

We also went to Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Epcot was ok. I went on a really fast race-car ride with Daddy, and a fun Nemo ride with Mommy, but they said parts of the park seemed dated. Animal Kingdom was really fun. There were dinosaur rides, a cool Nemo play, and an African safari where we got to see all kinds of animals, including elephants, hippos, giraffes, and even a lion. I even got to meet Donald Duck and friends while we were having lunch. Daddy took lots of pictures.

Sorry it took so long for this post. It took me a while to figure out how to spell all the words.

Thanksgiving in Virginia

June 25, 2013 – 10:46 pm

We spent Thanksgiving 2012 visiting Howie and Katie in Williamsburg, Virginia. It was a nice visit; Regen and I hadn’t been there since their wedding. Graham did well with his first multi-day car trip.

Just a few pictures from Colonial Williamsburg…

Christmas 2012

Here are some pictures from Christmas. We had a full house, with Grandma Anna, Grandpa Bruce, Tatum, Thomas, Grandma Rich (Big Guy) and Grandma Barb.

Summer 2012

September 28, 2012 – 1:39 pm

Here are a few pictures from this summer.

We spent the 4th of July holiday in Auburn.

Later in July we spent a week at a house on Hawk’s Nest Beach in Old Lyme, CT with Regen’s side of the family. Our place was just feet from the water. The weather was great, and we had a good time swimming, kayaking, catching crabs, and hanging out. We spent one day going to Mystic Seaport and on another, Regen, Graham, and I went on the Essex Steam Train and Connecticut River Boat tour.

Graham released his “pet” crab at the end of the week.
