Labor Day at the Cape

September 10, 2009 – 3:57 pm

We just got back from a get together for Regen’s side of the family. Anna and Bruce rented a great place in Eastham, Mass, on the outer leg of Cape Cod. The weather was a little cool, but dry, so we had a good mix of time at the beach and other activities.

I took out the kayak for a paddle around the salt marsh on the ocean side of Eastham on Tuesday morning. Shifting sand bars prevented me from doing the full loop that I had planned, but it was still a fun 6 or so miles. See the attached map… there was a 20 ft high sand dune blocking the entrance to the yellow route at the ocean. (Maps from a year ago also have that inlet a mile south.) Maybe one of the recent hurricanes?

So on to what most of you care about – the pictures.  There are a bunch of everyone, including Graham.  I also got a lot of good shots of the local wildlife while paddling, on a hike we took to see some seals, and at the Audubon center in Wellfleet.

  2. Wonderful family shots on the beach…and may be repeating myself, but the wildlife photos while paddling, David, and at the audubon in Wellsfleet, are gallery frameable.. Thanks again for sharing, Kiddos…xxxs, GAB
